Ray Manzarek, founding member and keyboardist of the legendary band The Doors, passed away today after his long battle with bile duct cancer. He was at the RoMed Clinic in Rosenheim, Germany.

Ray Manzarek

Most of you probably dig “Light My Fire” or “Break On Through” so much. I love those tracks too. But I am sharing my most favorite songs from The Doors – a kudos to the outstanding musicality that this band has shown to mankind. Enjoy! ( :

I’m pretty sure Ray has lived a long, good, rock n rollin’ life – 74 years to be exact. And for all we know, he’s now reunited with Jim Morrison and jamming somewhere out there. The Doors is one of the reasons why we wanna live in the 1960s.

Thank you for the amazing music you guys. And this goes out to all the great musicians that shared a piece (or all) of them to the world.

RIP Ray Manzarek Source
