Armadillo's Pillow Bookstore

Nested within the friendly neighborhood of Rogers Park, The Armadillo’s Pillow is easy to spot, with its quirky spectacle and outdoor shelf of $1 books that is hard to resist browsing through when walking along the stretch of Sheridan Road.

They “specialize in common, uncommon & hard-to-find used books.” Aside from a big selection of literature, they also sell art, incense, and local crafts such as handmade notebooks and jewelry. My personal favorite is hunting for vintage books that are either first printing or just simply old and/or rare. I bought a few old books printed in the 1950s and 1970s.

With their peculiar furniture selection, eccentric interior displays, and obscure business name, The Armadillo’s Pillow truly offers a unique book shopping experience.

    1. Thank you for visiting my site. (: Glad you enjoyed reading this post. Yes, you must visit them as well as A LOT MORE local bookstores around the city. If you are interested in getting to know about another one (which is also my favorite), you may want to check my post about After Words Bookstore here: http://bit.ly/afterwordschi Enjoy! (:

    1. We have quite a lot of them here in Chicago! Local independent bookshops are the best. (; You can also find great deals on used books. Thanks for dropping by my blog and I am also enjoying yours – crocheting is such a unique hobby!
